About Us

The title of this blog comes from something I heard my nephew say, that he was "Keepin' it 100."  As I investigated this phrase, I found out it's similar to me saying, "Keeping it real."  So I like that idea and wanted real teachers to help us all keep our experiences 100% real, honest, and useful.

I think you'll find that our first guest post,"Raw Success," by Stacie Atliff, is the perfect beginning to keepin' it 100.

While content and learning strategies tend to become the main goals, it is vital to realize these goals are more likely to be met when taught in a classroom where students feel safe. A place where students feel encouraged and independent too. #Fearless Friday

The introduction to this book says, "Can we restore story to a world obsessed with data?"  The author says, "Teachers start feeling that their own stories don't matter..."  That's what made me want to read it.  I think the place to impact students IS at the teacher to student level.  Can we learn to value that?
