The introduction to this book says, "Can we restore story to a world obsessed with data?"  The author says, "Teachers start feeling that their own stories don't matter..."  That's what made me want to read it.  I think the place to impact students IS at the teacher to student level.  Can we learn to value that?

While content and learning strategies tend to become the main goals, it is vital to realize these goals are more likely to be met when taught in a classroom where students feel safe.
